My Invisibility Cloak
Last week, I posted a poll on my blog (that I just took down). I wanted to know what you guys enjoyed reading from me. Well, no one voted in the poll. I don’t even think anyone looked at the post in six days. It’s not your fault. I haven’t been a very good steward of this blog. You have to write consistently in order to have readers.
I have felt invisible for a good portion of my life, wondering why I don’t have more opportunities. Wondering why I don’t get more attention but the truth is, I put on the invisibility cloak. I give up on projects just as they’re getting ready to take off. I don’t do things that I want to do because I’m afraid of putting myself out there for the world to see — and judge. I come up with a thousand excuses for why something won’t work before I ever try it. I hide behind responsibility because I’m afraid of success.
I debated writing about this at all because too often when you’re honest about your fears and your failures people think you’re whining. I just want something different in 2018. I want to live in abundance. I want to be a good wife. I want to be happy when I wake in the morning. And I want to do things because I enjoy them whether or not people understand it.
Upcoming on the blog I’m going to be reviewing my experience with Le Tote the fashion subscription service and there will be more fitness updates as I keep trying to get fit in 2018. Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever felt like I do, had people not understand why you wanted to do something or to let me know what you like (or dislike) about my blog.
To more writing in 2018!
